    Crackt Vic Jr. Intake....

Well my Vic Jr. Intake #2 runner cracked and seemingly pushed out the gasket. The #4 runner cracked also but not as bad.

I called Jegs to get a replacement and they told me to call Edelbrock......
I called Edelbrock and they told me to send an email with pics. Did that 12/20. No answer back. And they are closed till 01/05.
So, called Jegs again hoping for a different answer. Sure enough, they tell me to send it back and they will send a new one. I asked if they could just send me a new one and I send the crack one back so my car won't be down for as long. They told me I would have to pay for a new intake and they would reinburse me when I send back the cracked intake. I chose to pay for a new intake. It's BS but what can I do but bitch about it.

    This sux....

weak i always thought the vic jr were better then that. but they are the reason i dont hold much faith to people who say their sheet metal intakes(bbk ssi) suffer from such bad heat soak
Nitrous-More addictive then crack, twice as expensive.

Yeah, I'm disappointed. I was just thinking about getting edelbrocks new intake for the LSX when I switch to Fuel injection but If this happens again I will not do it.

I had a Edelbrock Air-Gap intake on my old SBC and this Vic. Jr. is not on par with the quality. The casting is not as good as the Air-Gap and now this...

I think the other time was someone who also went thru Jegs and they exchanged it, no questions asked. F*K'd up that they dicked you around tho..

So, I got the new intake 2day. It looks better than the older one. The casting is much better and the area that broke is thicker. I think they got it right this time. Now we'll see if Jegs takes care of me.

Did u over tighten it?..i dont see how it could generate enough pressure there to blow out the gasket like that.

I don't think that over tightening it would result in cracking the intake. See the bolts that hold the intake are 6mm. I think the bolts would either strip or break before any thing else.
Although I do agree that there is not enough pressure there to push out the seal like that.
